Have you always wanted to make your own homemade biscuits but found the recipes too intimidating? These super easy 4-ingredient biscuits are the perfect starting point for any new baker!
Why This Recipe Works
With only 4 ingredients needed, these super easy biscuits come together in minutes and make the perfect side dish for anytime!
Thanks to Bisquick and lemon-lime soda, you’ll end up with fluffy and light biscuits with the perfect balance of buttery flavor and unique soda sweetness.
And if you can’t get enough homemade biscuits, try my Cheddar Bay Biscuits or these Buttermilk Biscuits with Honey Butter!
Ingredients Needed

- Bisquick: You can also use a pre-made biscuit mix, but Bisquick works great and I usually have it in the pantry anyway.
- Sour Cream: Prevents your biscuits from drying out and gives them a slightly tangy flavor.
- 7-Up: Any kind of lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or Starry) also works just fine!
- Unsalted Butter
How to Make these 7-Up Biscuits

- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the sour cream and Bisquick using a fork or pastry blender.
- Step 2: Pour the 7-Up directly into the large bowl and mix into the dry ingredients.
- Step 3: Once a dough forms, sprinkle more Bisquick onto your cutting board and turn out the biscuit dough. Roll it out into a 1-inch thick layer.
- Step 4: Use a biscuit cutter or any circular cookie cutter to punch circles from the dough.

- Step 5: In a cast iron skillet, melt your butter.
- Step 6: Place cut biscuits in a single layer in the melted butter and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown and fluffy.
Recipe Tips

- After baking, allow the biscuits to sit for about 5 minutes to absorb any remaining butter.
- If you don’t have a cast iron skillet, you can also use a 9×9 baking dish.
- No biscuit cutter? The lid of a mason jar or even a wide cup is great to cut out the circles.
- Diet soda is not recommended for these biscuits–the sugars from the drink are important for the final result.
- These biscuits are typically best enjoyed the day of, but if you have leftover biscuits, store in an airtight container or plastic bag. You can either keep them in the fridge or on the counter, but either way they’ll be good for 1 to 2 days.
- To freeze your biscuits, prepare the dough and cut out the shapes, then freeze before baking. Use parchment paper if you have multiple layers of biscuits to prevent them from sticking. You can bake them directly from frozen with a few extra minutes of baking time.
