Ingredients
- 4Â slices sourdough bread
- 1 1/2 cups smoked gouda, shredded
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp ale (such as brown ale or stout)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
- Butter one side of each bread slice.
- Place two slices butter-side down on the skillet.
- Sprinkle half the cheese on each slice.
- Drizzle 1 tbsp ale over each sandwich half.
- Sprinkle garlic powder evenly over the cheese.
- Top with remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
- Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Press lightly with a spatula to help melt the cheese.
- Slice and serve warm.
