Apple fritter bread takes the beloved flavors of apple fritters and transforms them into a loaf of delicious quick bread! I like to use Granny Smith apples their tartness makes a delicious apple filling paired with the sweetness of this bread is fantastic. Ingredients needed for this apple quick bread

Ingredient notes

  • Sugars: Both granulated sugar and brown sugar are in this recipe.
  • Butter: I use unsalted butter for baking.
  • Apples: I like to use tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  • Flour: All-purpose flour is recommended.
  • Milk: Whole milk or lowfat will work fine.
  • Walnuts: Pecan also work great but if you prefer to leave them out you can.

How to make this apple fritter loaf

  • Step 1: In a small bowl mix the brown sugar and cinnamon until combined and set aside.
  • Step 2: In a medium bowl using a hand mixer, mix the sugar and butter until combined then add eggs, milk, and vanilla and mix.
  • Step 3: Mix in the eggs and vanilla to the butter mixture.
  • Step 4: Add in the dry ingredients and mix.
  • Step 5: Mix in the milk
  • Step 6: Pour half of the batter into a prepared loaf pan.

  • Step 7: Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  • Step 8: Add the diced apple layer on top.
The remaining batter placed on top then the rest of the apples and cinnamon mixture.
  • Step 9: Followed by the remaining batter.
  • Step 10: Then add the remaining diced fresh apples, cinnamon mixture, and walnuts and bake! Let cool and drizzle the glaze on top of the bread.

Recipe Tips

  • Be sure to spray the loaf pan well or use a piece of parchment paper.
  • make sure the loaf is fully cooled before adding the glaze.
  • If you have extra apples to use try my Caramel Apple Crisp or my Apple Spice Muffins!
  • Your baking time can vary depending on the type of apple you use.
  • If your loaf starts to brown too quickly place a piece of aluminum foil on top to protect it.
