Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread white or whole wheat
  • 2 slices of cheese cheddar, American, or your favorite
  • 1 tbsp butter softened
  • Optional: 1 tsp mayonnaise for extra crispiness

Instructions

  • Butter the bread
  • Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  • (Optional: spread mayonnaise instead of butter for a crispier texture.)
  • Assemble the sandwich
  • Place the cheese slices between the two bread slices, with the buttered sides facing outward.
  • Heat the pan
  • Warm a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
  • Cook the sandwich
  • Place the sandwich in the pan. Cook 3–4 minutes on the first side until golden brown.
  • Flip and finish
  • Carefully flip the sandwich and cook another 3–4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
  • Serve
  • Remove from pan, let it cool for 1 minute, slice in half, and enjoy!
